It’s been a long time since I “blogged” anything. It’s something I enjoyed doing, but found it difficult at times due to other demands of life. I used to blog regularly, up until Dec. of 2010. That’s when I publicly demonstrated the first HLS flash player in existence, playing the Apple BipBop demo stream. What happened next was a bunch of quick phone calls, taking down the demo, and then becoming a founder in a small company called upLynk. During that time, we were operating in stealth mode, which meant limiting what I could share. Soon, my blogging rhythm atrophied, and n8o.org became abandoned.
One day, I would like to write a book about upLynk -> VDMS -> AOL -> Yahoo -> Edgio -> Uplynk experience. The story would be filled with a lot of highs and lows that I think people would find interesting. But I’ll save that for another day. For those who would like more details, I would recommend this article.
In the next few posts, I plan to focus on where streaming is currently and my thoughts on where it should be headed. There will also be some other ramblings every once in a while, with topics ranging from farming to AI.
